The Lost Dutchman Marathon Feb. 15, 2009

On Feb. 15TH two marathons. Hmmm.....It was hard to choose between the new IMS Marathon (in my own backyard and fast flat course) and the rolling hills of the Lost Dutchman Marathon. Well, I decided on the Lost Dutchman. The course route sounds interesting. Somewhere around mile 23 immediately upon turning onto Lost Dutchman Boulevard, runners will notice a hill with a wall at the top. The hill is a tenth of a mile from bottom to top with a 50 foot elevation gain and is reverently called The Dutchman’s Revenge. From the top of the hill you will be able to see the finish line a little over three miles in the distance at Prospector Park on North Idaho Road. Boy! I am in for a real treat!

After doing P.F. Chang Marathon on Jan. 18TH, 2009, I decided to give it another try since I was so upset about my beloved Nor...Nor... that passed away. It was hard to run a marathon knowing he was sick but I finished in 4:51 clock time. Running 26.2 miles with a tennis ball in his honor and then bringing it home to him was an awesome feeling.

Wondering how I will feel doing the 200 mile Del Sol Relay after the Lost Dutchman...hmmmm....

Chow!
